  Some of the best egg drop soup I have ever had! They also had tasty beef bulgogi. The service was top notch as well.
  
  The egg rolls were a greasy but good and my partner wasn't a fan of the beef bulgogi.

  This place was good, but didn't blow my socks away. I think I'm used to the all you can eat chains with high quality meat back in the Bay Area. We're definitely spoiled in California when it comes to Asian cuisine so I may be biased lol This place is located inside of a Korean store & very homey and the food tastes like so as well. I ordered the bulgogi, but it tasted like it was boiled down. I prefer that it taste more marinated/grilled...but the japchae that my niece ordered was delicious so I'll get that next time. Awesome customer service (even though neither of them were Korean) lol Food was reasonably priced. Would have preferred more banchan options.

  Yun's is a small market attached to a small restaurant.  The market has the basics, prices are bit high but not too bad.  The restaurant, also called Kimchi House according to the signage is accessible through the store or via a separate entrance.  I did not buy anything at the store so I will focus my review on the restaurant.
  
  The menu has all the common dishes you would expect at a Korean eatery.  I opted for the Bulgogi.  The Bulgogi combo started with an egg drop soup, was followed by the Kimchi and Cucumber Kimchi sides and the main dish included the Bulgogi and white rice.   All the food was very basic, no extraneous ingredients or fancy plating and garnishes.  
  
  The soup was a thick chicken broth with egg strands, not overly flavorful and bit thicker than I typically like.  The sides looked great, I am not a fan of traditional cabbage based Kimchi so I only ate the Cucumber version, it was good.  It was like a mild pickle or a refreshing cucumber salad, it could have used a little more spice for my taste.  The rice on the main dish was cooked properly which is as much as you can ask from white rice.  The Bulgogi beef was a decent portion, the meat was extremely tender and had a good flavor, a bit sweet, seasoned but not spicy.
  
  Yun's is one if not the only Korean option in the Layton area.  The restaurant was clean and accommodating.  It appeared that while I was there for lunch there were two Korean ladies doing most if not all the work (there might have been a cook, not sure) the ladies were spread thin but doing their best to provide good service.  Food was simple and tasty, prices were reasonable with most combos under $10.

  Saw this on Yelp the other day and wanted to try it...glad I did. Came here for lunch today while in town visiting and it was absolutely delicious!  Best Korean food I've had since Korea. Even reminded me of the places we'd eat there with the little wooden tables and chairs and decorating. Had the standard beef bulgogi which came with rice, cucumber kimchi, cabbage kimchi, and egg drop soup. Ordered the yaki too, cuz well, it's yaki...can't not get some. The food was great, very authentic and the lady serving the food was very friendly. The place was immaculate and there's a little Korean market that she owns right next door that shares a door. Another recommendation would be the kimbap. Saw another table order that and it looked great. Wish we had this place back home!

  Every once and a while you get the idea to try a little hole in the wall place. You think to yourself "remember when we were in Barstow and we tried that taqueria with the mural of the flaming donkey flying over the city of Michoacan? Man those were tasty tortas!" Well I thought perhaps a Korean Market that doubles as a restaurant would have that same stroke of luck. Unfortunately I was sorely mistaken.
  
  What should have sent massive warning singles was the additional offering of papusas on the door of the restaurant. I often worry that if you're good at one type of cuisine why do you need to offer a totally different genre? (Unless you fuse the two, see my post on Chino Bandido) I ignored my intuition and soldiered on. I entered the establishment and it had a smattering of customers, a couple of which were Korean. The television had a Korean program on and so I thought, we're in business. I ordered the spicy pork lunch special. The meal began with two kimchi sides and a gelatinous chicken based soup. It was think and thin in its texture. Which was as disgusting as it was impressive. How do you have both thick and thin consistencies throughout the "soup"? I ate about 1/4 of the soup and waited for my spicy pork bbq. What came was a large oval plate with overcooked rice and soggy, I'm talking soggy spicy pork. I tried to mix the meat into the rice to absorb some of the pork water, it didn't help. The worst part was the rice tasted like a dirt plastic bowl. The plastic taste linger through three bites and finally gave up. I told the owner I wasn't going to eat it and that I would pay. She said I didn't need to and I left. Very sweet lady, very sour taste experience.
